Airbnb

Your airbnb at Residencial Alborada will be pre stocked with fresh local fruits, veggies, bread, eggs, and drinking water the morning you arrive.

If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know way in advance, so we can plan accordingly.

Each Airbnb has 2 bedrooms, each room with a full sized bed...fitting up to 4 people for each airbnb.

Your airbnb includes a pool, in a safe and gated community. All apartments are fully furnished, with a washing machine for your laundry. Both bath and beach towels will be provided by your Airbnb host.

There is an OXXO which is like a 7/11, walking distance from the Airbnb. There is also a large “super” grocery store, Chedraui, that we can bring you to if you need any other items or food. They have food, some clothing, toiletries, sunscreens, etc.

Incase of any emergency, my mother, Laura LaBrie also lives right in Alborada and can be to you in a minute if need be...we live about 5 minutes away and can be to you quickly as well. Also the workers in Alborada are VERY nice and helpful and caring. MOST people that live in Alborada are English speaking.

Hotel El Moro

Traditional breakfast included.

Short 3 minute walk from the Puerto Morelos beaches.

Private hotel room with access to hotel pool.

Hotel Daloras Alba

Dinner and breakfast at Daloras Alba Hotel is included OR 1 local dinner and lunch will be included.

The Daloras Alba hotel is a wonderful and energy filled hotel! We often have “unexplained” experiences when we stay there!

We will stay up telling stories of the “Alux” the local spirits of the land...and the trouble they like to cause ;)

This hotel is ONLY included with the Shaman/Cave package. It is a 3 hour drive from where you will be staying in Puerto Morelos.

Each room has 2 queen size beds, fitting up to a total of 4 people.

There are 2 pools at the hotel. One is a natural “cenote” pool and other other is a smaller pool near the hotel restaurant. The hotel offers food and drinks, but we try to bring our own water, as the water bottles at the hotel are very expensive.

Ancient Cave

This PRIVATE ancient cave is a walk back in time, as you decend down a hand built ladder into the mouth of Mother Earth. The inside walls are painted with very ancient Mayan heiroglyphics and there is ancient pottery scattered around. The walk through the cave will lead you to very sacred underground waters. These waters are said to have magickal healing properties and are used in rituals by the local Shamans and Medicine Men. When people are sick, they are brought here for healing. Men who have not been able to walk...will enter these waters and walk out!

These waters are also used for the bride and groom during a wedding ceremony. It was a very wonderful and very sacred exeprience to be able to access this.

The ancient cave excursion is not for the faint of heart. You will get dirty, sweaty, and most likely scratched up a bit. There are spaces in the cave that you need to crawl on your hands and knees through. It is a 30-40 minute “hike” through the cave to the sacred water, and another 30-40 minutes back out.

We will be guided by 2 locals. The Shaman plus a local cave guide. This cave is NOT open to the public and can only be accessed with the Shaman.

So as hard as this excursion is...it is very worth it! And not something the public get to see.

Snorkeling & Diving

All gear for snorkeling and/or scuba diving will be provided, including Fins, Snorkels, Masks, BCDs, Regs, Tanks, Wetsuits, Boat Rentals, Guides/Instructor.

Scuba Diving optional for additional cost.

Dramamine for seasickness will also be provided in case you need it.

Transportation

Transportation is included for all retreat activities, as well as pick up and drop off from the Cancun airport.

Please make sure to bring;

Any prescriptions you take

Passport

2 or 3 swimsuits

Warm weather clothing

Organic Eco Friendly Sunscreen/Bug Spray

Good walking shoes for ruins and cave

Flip flops or “summer” shoes

Water bottle

Money

You can pay for things with your card, dollars, or pesos. However if you wish to pay in cash, we recommend exchanging your dollars for pesos, so you get a better rate at most shops and restaurants. We will take you to the best exchange place...do NOT exchange at the airport.

Ruins & Cenotes

During these retreats, we take you to ruins that are not high on the tourists list. There are over 4,000 Mayan ruins throughout Latin America...yet just a handfull are marketed to the public...so you can imagine how packed with tourists they get. With us, you will see the Mayan ruins that are equally...and in some case even more beautiful than the popular ones...without all the crowds!

Coba is a Mayan ruin that you will be able to climb, it is also very shaded, so nice to be away from the heat a bit. Near the Coba ruins, are 2 beautiful underground cenotes you will enjoy afterwards, to cool off and relax!

There is a lot of walking at each of the ruins. You will get hot. We plan each outdoor excursion with a dip in cool water afterwards, like a cenote, lagoon, or ocean. Bring a swimsuit on each excursions we go to, or wear under your clothing. Bring a water bottle and small snacks.

Guides

Your guides  will be with you throughout the entire week, except for downtime at your Hotel or Airbnb. Guides speak perfect English, and fluent Spanish.

PADI (additional option)

The PADI course will come in several parts. The first part is the “book and videos” you will need to do before you arrive to Mexico. The ebook will be sent to you through PADI via email as well as links to short videos you must watch and MUST be completed before arrival.

You will be tested on the PADI info when you arrive. It’s all pretty easy stuff though so don’t feel stress over it!

Once you are certified, your PADI certified Open Water card will be mailed to your home address. This certification lasts a lifetime and never expires!

Once you arrive, you will have 3 dives that are included. 1 Practice dive, this will be your first time in the water after going over all the needed knowledge of the equipment. Your second dives will be open water reef dives of about 30 feet.
